For Red Alert 2, Generals and Renegade there are some more general patches that solve a bunch of their problems. I'm not sure how you can't do it in RA2 it's literally just editing the ini file in the game folder.Д¬ommand & Conquer 1, Red Alert 1 and Tiberian Sun have all been upgraded with community-created unofficial patches that fix a lot of their bugs and compatibility problems. Case in point, in C&C1, The maximum map size is only 1488x1488, so playing on 1920x1080 would always give problems. Honestly, I don't understand people's obsession with trying to force games into resolutions they were never made for. In Generals,В the larger your resolution, the more you see how low-poly the models are.In RA2, the larger your resolution, the more viewport you get in-game, and the more your units look like ants.Thank you in realize that there's a huge difference between playing RA2 in high resolution and playing Generals in high resolution. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. If I sound snarky and rude at the moment, forgive me, but please understand that I have been looking for a solution to this issue for upwards of 3 hours at this point.

Does anyone have any reason for why the games act like this and do you have a solution to it? Please, I really want to play these magnificent games in full screen on my monitor. It's Renegade and Red Alert 2 as well, and I'm willing to wager the case is the same with other games. I have even tried other resolutions such as 1366 x 768 but the game refuses to accept that either, it only plays on 800 x 600, which for me, shatters the immersion and is unplayable. I have even downloaded the widescreen patch, guess what? NO SUCCESS.

I have gone into the files and edited the resolution in options.ini, no success. I've followed every tutorial I could find to the letter and yet still no success, those annoying bars at the sides of the screen are still there! I have tried to change resolution in game, no success.

I want to change it to 1920 x 1080 because that fits my monitor, but it simply will not comply. However, I was unable to change the resolution no matter how much I tried. I ordered the Command and Conquer Ultimate Collection in order to play Generals and Zero Hour, and I wanted to play it in full screen, as any sane person would. So I'm getting extremely pissed off at this point.
